Oct. 27th, 2005 10:04 pmAfter the meeting with Spider, Phoebe left the Journalism classroom, she hadn't really been surprised to see Cole waiting for her across the hall. She went gratefully into his arms and held him with a sigh. The meeting hadn't been as bad as she had expected -- but it hadn't really been pleasant, either.
It had been all business, with no banter between her and Krycek and Jake at all. In fact, they had barely spoken to her. It had been more painful than she had imagined it could be. The fact that she had been cut cold by the two people she had once considered her closest friends made her chest tighten up enough that it hurt to breathe.
It hurt, gods it hurt.
She laid her head on his chest and tried to focus on the comfort that she knew he would give.
