Phoebe was locked in her room at Halliwell Manor. Paige and Piper hadn't thought it was a good idea for her to go back to Fandom on today of all days, so Paige had brought her home to the Manor last night.

She wasn't sure what her other sisters had told Prue, but her oldest sister had been very good about intercepting Grams before she could come talk to her. She knew Grams loved her and would want to make her feel better, but she didn't know what she could tell Grams. How could she tell her why she was so broken? How could she tell Grams what happened with Cole?

Last year at this time, she and Cole had started getting back together and past everything that had happened before. They were in love more deeper than ever before. They should have been happy. They should have been making plans for after graduation.

She had no idea that a year later she would be mourning him after having had to kill the bastard that was possessing his body. She had no idea that a year later she would have been drinking something that the Source of All Evil had created to bring out her true nature of being evil...

He had pretty much told her that her true nature was evil... but he hadn't counted on her and Cole's friends. The friends that believed in them both. The friends that had gotten her to see that the Source was possessing her boyfriend and that he was NOT Cole. The friends that reminded her that Cole loved her because she wasn't evil in any way.

That didn't make the pain of losing Cole any less. That didn't make the fact that the body they had vanquished had once belonged to the man she loved.

"Cole..." she whispered again before burying her face in the pillow in an attempt to keep her family that she knew was close by from hearing her sobs.

It had been a very emotional and nerve-wracking day.

First, there had been lunch with Grams and Prue and some parts of their conversation had been difficult. She had come clean about a few things --- though she did wonder who had told Grams about the mermaid incident --- and had kept others hidden. Which reminded her, she needed to call Blair and thank him for covering for her but that she didn't want him to have to lie for her. Breakfast tomorrow wasn't neccessary unless he wanted to come along for moral support.

Then, she had taken Grams to meet Mr. Winchester and let her see what kind of Hunting class she was really taking. That meeting seemed to have gone very well and Mr. Winchester had answered all of Grams' questions --- including why he was teaching the class.

Of course, the emotional roller coaster had gone into full power when she had met with the father she hadn't seen since she was a baby in his hotel room at The Arms. That had been emotional and confusing. He wanted to be a part of her life now, and she had asked him for some time to think.

After that, she had met with Prue in the park, where she had come clean with her eldest sister about certain things. Wasn't that fun.

Now, she let herself into her rooms. She was tired and emotional --- and she missed Cole. She hadn't seen him in a couple of days and she needed to. His phone message last night had worried her and right now, she needed to know that he was okay. She dropped down onto the couch and let out a sigh.

She could get through this weekend. She really could.

Maybe.

To say that Phoebe was a hysterical mess when she finally slammed into the manor would not have been an overstatement of fact. Demonic powers and really nasty evil creatures, she was accustomed to being waylaid by. A man with a gun in the park was not something she was accustomed to.

As soon as Phoebe slammed the door shut behind her, she fumbled to lock every lock on the door. It was only after she looked out the window in the door to see that he hadn't followed her, that Phoebe leaned against the door, trying to stop the panic and get the sobbing under control.

Safe. She was safe. )

Late Monday night, after Graduation and the other festivities, and after saying good night to her family and to Blair, Phoebe opened the door to the South Attic.

She changed into comfortable pajamas and went into the kitchen area to make some tea.

Talking to Grams and with Blair had definitely been interesting --- except for the whole embarrassment thing that Grams seemed to have way too much fun with. Except for a few rough patches, Blair had seemed to handle everything pretty well. However, it didn't make Phoebe wish that it could have been Cole having that kind of conversation with Grams any less. He looked miserable during the ceremony and she had felt miserable.

She slammed her spoon down on the counter.

It wasn't right that Grams would hate Cole just because he was half demon! He loved her and she loved him. He was a good guy and had taken really good care of her since they had been together.

She had missed being with him tonight.

Phoebe took her tea and went to sit on the couch to wait for him to come in.
