Phoebe and Cole's Hotel Room at The Arms

As promised, after the visit to Angelus, Phoebe had gone to The Arms to get her and Cole a room. As much as she really did adore Xander and Bridge, she didn't want to impose on Xander as his apartment was getting pretty crowded.

Cole didn't want her going out unless she was with him or Anders because he still felt that Angelus was a danger -- even if he was behind bars right now.

So, this was Phoebe, pacing her hotel room.

"Does this mean I'm in trouble too, then?" Anders asked.

"Oh hell yes," she said softly.

Anders nodded in acknowledgment. "I deserve it, I guess."

"What were you thinking?"

Anders bristled just a little bit. "That he hurt someone, and we needed to save her? I didn't just go for no reason, Phoebe. Bridge asked me to help."

Okay, so he'd agreed so readily in part because he'd hoped to be able to get back at Angelus a little bit for messing with Bel, but still.

"And you wanted a bit of revenge on Angelus? Do you know how dangerous he is?"

Phoebe was in no way shaking a little as she realized she could have lost him, too.

"No!" Anders objected. "I . . ."

He sighed. "Maybe a little? But I wasn't even close to alone."

"And how would you react if it was me?"

"I would --" Anders's face darkened briefly, then he blinked. "Do what I just did when I got here?"

"I get just as frantic when you endanger yourself, Anders. Like I keep telling Cole, you can't expect me to always stay safely hidden somewhere when there is danger while you guys rush out to meet it."

"And I guess the three of us locking ourselves away in some tower in the middle of the forest is right out of the question, isn't it?" Anders asked with a slight laugh.
