Friday, 518/520

Phoebe didn't have classes on Fridays, so she was perfectly content with laying in bed with Cole and listening to the rain. She did have to get out of the bed at some point today, but right now, she wasn't in any hurry to get up.

Yesterday most of the boys had been girls, but luckily, Cole hadn't turned into a girl -- something she was very happy for.

She curled up close to him, and nuzzled him.

"I really didn't leave my room very much, I guess," she said softly. "It hurt too much. Gods, where do I start?"

"Start from the beginning, I guess. I mean, you must have had some reason to think Bel was still alive, right?" Lana bit her lip. "Though, I thought you would have said something to me."

Phoebe took Lana's hands in hers. "I honestly didn't know he was truly alive until Tuesday afternoon and at that point, you were unconscious in the clinic."

"Oh," Lana said, feeling embarrassed for even briefly doubting her friend. "That's right. Maybe we should start with that. On Sunday night I was..." she swallowed hard, "Abducted by aliens, though I didn't know that's what had happened. I was just in pain and terrified and, Phoebe, god, look at me, I lost so much more weight and that's really bad."

Phoebe paled.

"Sunday night after you walked me back from the service? Oh Gods, Lana." She hugged her friend. "Yes, you've lost weight, but we'll get it put back on you."

She was really wanting to send some aliens to the Wastelands.

Lana nodded. "A little while after that. They had me for a week, although here only a day passed. I was in the clinic almost all week when I got back - Neil found me and brought me there - then Mr. Phale and Dr. Wilson let me stay with them because Jim was gone and I was scared to be alone in my room. But Saturday night, when you were all there to try and get Bel, I..."

Lana hesitated, not sure she wanted to say anything to Phoebe about Wyatt. "I went out to get some air and they took me again. I was there a day or two and then Conner and Tori rescued me and Shawn healed me..."

Phoebe shook her head. "Believe me, I wanted to tell you everything and have you go with me. But you were in the clinic and then when we did the spell you were recovering." She shook her head. "I wish I had been here to help you."

"You came to see me in the clinic," Lana said, reassuringly. "That meant a lot."

"I was so scared," Lana said quietly. "And Jim was in Japan and couldn't get back."

Phoebe hugged her. "I am so sorry that I wasn't there for you."

Phoebe bit her lip. "It still makes me feel like hell. You were being kidnapped by aliens on Sunday... and I was getting drunk and having sex with Anders."

Lana grinned. "I think I would have preferred the drunk and sex part." She sobered quickly. "Not that I would have wished the abduction on you. Or anyone for that, matter, but especially not you."

Phoebe hugged her. "I know."

She sighed. "Okay, so, my stuff. After you left, Anders came by with Ambrosia and Black Space Vodka. We ended up drinking that, as well as a bottle of tequila."

"Oh, Phoebe," Lana said. "You know what happened the last time you drank like that."

Phoebe looked shame-faced. "But I wasn't alone this time and there were no demons waiting to hurt or claim me. I was with Anders." She sighed. "At the time? All I cared about was making the pain stop and not having to think about the fact that Cole was gone."

Lana put her arms around her. "It's okay. I understand. Remember how bad I got when Jim left? If Seely hadn't been such a good guy I would have slept with him. And I didn't even have the excuse of believing that the love of my life was dead."

Phoebe leaned against her. "The next morning when we woke up in bed together, I don't know which of us was the more shocked." She sighed. "And then, I started hearing Cole's voice."

"You heard his voice? Like in your head?" Lana asked. "That must have been... disconcerting to say the least."

"Made worse by the fact that I was in bed with the guy he cheated on me with while he was poossessed?" Phoebe sighed. "At first, I thought it was my guilt."

Phoebe shook her head. "No, it wasn't. I heard him again, asking for my help. So, I told Anders. He didn't hear anything, but he believed me."
