South Attic -- Oh Noes!!!

After having dinner with Walter and other friends in the third floor common room, Phoebe returned to the South Attic to relax for a bit. She heard a beep and saw that she had voicemail on her phone.

When she listened to the voicemail she let out an shocked yelp that probably was heard throughout the attics.

Oh this was bad... very bad.

"What's wrong, love?" Cole said as he came out into the main room.

"Grams... Grams is in town and wants to talk to me... and my boyfriend."

Cole made a noise that could possibly be described as "Eeep."

Phoebe might have whimpered.

"What are we going to do?"

"Run?" Cole suggested.

Phoebe just stared at him for a moment. "Then we'd be running forever and she'd want to kill you because she'd be convinced that you absconded with me."

She shook her head.

"We can't run," she moaned. "And we can't pretend you're ill or away the entire time she's here."

"Maybe she won't want to vanquish me?" Cole said. "Maybe she won't know I'm a demon?"

Yeah, right.

"Someone gay?" Cole suggested.

"Gay and single? Do we know anyone like that?"

Cole mulled this over. Everyone he could think of was in a relationship except maybe for.... "Is Blair?" he asked out loud. "Well, no, there was Molly. So he's out."

Phoebe perked up.

"Blair... Blair could be perfect. He would never think of trying anything with me and he knows you... and he's so... nice and unassuming. He's the type of guy who would probably be willing to help us out on this."

She looked up into his face.

"What do you think?"

Cole pondered this. "I guess I could be okay with it," he said, just a little reluctantly.

Phoebe caressed Cole's face.

"I'm not thrilled about this, but better this than Grams vanquishing you."

"You want to ask Blair then?" Cole said.

Phoebe shook her head.

"Grams won't want to kill you or anything, Blair," she assured him. "You're not a demon. She knows that I'm in love with a really good guy here, but she doesn't know he's a demon. She wants to talk to me and meet my boyfriend, but if she meets Cole..." Phoebe swallowed.

"Blair, she needs to meet my boyfriend which means I need someone I trust to pretend to be said boyfriend." She smiled faintly. "Cole and I trust you... you wouldn't try to take advantage of me or anything during this. You're a nice guy and someone who likes to help and keep the peace."

Blair leaned against the wall and thought for a few minutes. He liked Phoebe a lot, she was always nice to him. Beltha- Cole wasn't all that bad either. It wasn't like he cared that much about being totally honest.

Plus, he was all about keeping the peace.

"Okay. I'm in." Blair bounced. "What do I need to do?"

"Smile, be polite, and convince Ms. Halliwell that you're the perfect boyfriend," Bel said. "I'm not sure when she's going to want to meet 'me' but I'm sure Phoebe can keep you informed."

"Can I be me or do I pretend to be Cole?" Blair thought wistfully about being taller.

"I'll do the best I can, but as far as the perfect boyfriend thing goes...you do know that my only experience with dating ended with my girlfriend dumping me, right?"

Phoebe smiled. "You just be you, Blair. That's all you need to do. You're already sweet and kind and you've always been nice and sweet to me."

Phoebe forces herself not to say what she wants to about Blair getting dumped. She still feels he got the bad end of that deal.

"As for the perfect part, all you have to do is be the great guy and friend you have always been to me. You won't be alone here. You'll have me and Cole nearby to coach you. I'll let Nadia and Pippi know what's up and they can always help. My sisters will help too."

Blair bounced and grinned. "Thanks, Phoebe. That means a lot to me."

"Alright, I can handle being me and it sounds like everyone else will be helping with the other parts. Looks like we've got a plan!"

Phoebe watched Blair leave and then went to Cole's side and took his hand. She looked into his face.

"You going to be okay with this? Blair would never think to do anything. He's not that kind of guy."

"I know," Cole sighed. "I just wish...that people would accept us being together."

Phoebe nodded. "Most people here do," she said softly.

She sighed. "I'm going to start telling Grams more about you after she leaves here. It's not fair that she might try to vanquish you just because you're half demon. We'll convince her how good you are for me," she promised. "We will."

"I hope so," Cole said, kissing her temple.

"We will... and if they don't accept it, we go somewhere where we will be accepted as a pair. I love you... and you're my soulmate. Nothing can destroy that --- look at everyone who has tried and failed."

"You're right," he said with a small sigh. He kissed her again. "I love you."
