South Attic -- Oh Noes!!!

After having dinner with Walter and other friends in the third floor common room, Phoebe returned to the South Attic to relax for a bit. She heard a beep and saw that she had voicemail on her phone.

When she listened to the voicemail she let out an shocked yelp that probably was heard throughout the attics.

Oh this was bad... very bad.

"What's wrong, love?" Cole said as he came out into the main room.

"Grams... Grams is in town and wants to talk to me... and my boyfriend."

Cole made a noise that could possibly be described as "Eeep."

Phoebe might have whimpered.

"What are we going to do?"

"Run?" Cole suggested.

[sensethevisions]

Phoebe just stared at him for a moment. "Then we'd be running forever and she'd want to kill you because she'd be convinced that you absconded with me."

She shook her head.

"We can't run," she moaned. "And we can't pretend you're ill or away the entire time she's here."

"Maybe she won't want to vanquish me?" Cole said. "Maybe she won't know I'm a demon?"

Yeah, right.

Phoebe might have been flailing.

"Cole!" she wailed. "You're the one that told me about her reputation as a demon killer!"

"Then what?" Cole said. "Lie and say we broke up? Pretend someone else is your boyfriend?"

Phoebe started to wail and flail again...and then she stopped and stared at him.

"Like you did with Beka at Parents Weekend?" she asked. "Do you think that would work?" Because there was no way she could tell anyone she and Cole had broekn up.

He'd been joking, but Phoebe had seized on the idea. "Um, I don't know?" he said. "Who would you try to pass off as me?" He automatically ruled out any number of guys he didn't want putting hands on Phoebe.

Phoebe bit her lip. "I don't know... you're the only one I love. I've never really looked at any other guys here." She looked at him. "Suggestions?"

"I can suggest a whole lot of guys I'd rather not," Cole grumbled.

Phoebe covered her face with her hands.

"I know a couple of guys who might help, but it could be problematic."

She sighed. "Okay, guys that we both know and trust?"

"I don't trust anyone," Cole said. "Except Angel, and he's right out. Lindsey will be busy being Piper's boyfriend."

"How about guys that are too afraid of you to do anything with me?"

[demonbelthazor]

"That better be all guys," Cole said.

"Sweetheart," Phoebe said softly as she went to him and wrapped an arm around him. "Is there any of the guys here yu can think of that would pretend to be you and not get fresh with me?" She sighed. "Or should I put an ad up on the bulletin boards in the common rooms that I need a fake boyfriend for a day or two?"

"Someone gay?" Cole suggested.

"Gay and single? Do we know anyone like that?"

Cole mulled this over. Everyone he could think of was in a relationship except maybe for.... "Is Blair?" he asked out loud. "Well, no, there was Molly. So he's out."

Phoebe perked up.

"Blair... Blair could be perfect. He would never think of trying anything with me and he knows you... and he's so... nice and unassuming. He's the type of guy who would probably be willing to help us out on this."

She looked up into his face.

"What do you think?"

Cole pondered this. "I guess I could be okay with it," he said, just a little reluctantly.

Phoebe caressed Cole's face.

"I'm not thrilled about this, but better this than Grams vanquishing you."

"You want to ask Blair then?" Cole said.
