South Attic -- Hysterics

After what happened in Sociology class. Phoebe ran up to her dorm and slammed the door behind her. She had tears in her eyes and she was fighting to see past them.

They had taken him... they had taken Cole.

Phoebe threw their books down and paced the main room.

She had to do something! Cole was innocent. He never would have attacked anyone and especially not now! He was good, damn it!

She went to her phone and dialed.

She called Piper first. Then Lana. Then Kiki.

She needed calmer heads than hers right now.

Lana came flying in. "What happened? My God, how could they arrest Bel??"

Phoebe shook her head, tears threatening to spill any moment.

"I don't know. Constable Fraser came and got him." She shok her head. "He wouldn't have attacked anyone!"

"Where is he? Down at the station in town? Should we go down there to see what's going on?" Lana looked ready to take on anyone who stood in her way.

Phoebe was trying not to flail.

"There was an attack in town and he's beeen accused." She swallowed. "I don't know what to do..."

"Okay..." Lana thought for a minute. "Someone should go down there and figure out what they say happened. If we don't know that, then we can't figure out how to counter it."

She looks a little chagrined. "I, um... had a little too much to drink last night and don't really remember much of anything after the whole School!Kissy thing last night, but I assume you were with Bel, right?"

Phoebe shook her head.

"Not until later," Phoebe almost wailed. "He had a study date with Allie and I was meeting Paige here for the same thing."

Paige appeared surroundd by blue orbs in the room and went to hug Phoebe, "It's gonna be okay Pheebes, we'll figure this out."

Phoebe hugged her sister.

"He wouldn't attack anyone, Paige! He's good now."

She nodded, "I know, I trust your instincts and he's been nothing but nice to me lately. I don't believe anything the Mountie said, it'll be okay Pheebes."

Phoebe shook her head. "What if they don't let him come home?!"

After class, Piper had checked her messages. There was a hysterical message from Phoebe waiting for her. Immediately, she went to the South Attic to check on her sister.

Two sisters with her. Check.

Phoebe looked at Piper.

"He didn't do this, Piper!"

Piper nodded. "I believe you, Pheebs. Tell me what happened, okay?"

She spoke gently to her sister, trying to calm her.

"Constable Fraser came in to class and took Cole. There was an attack in town last night and the witness described Cole."

Piper sighed. That definitely wasn't a good sign. "What exactly happened in town last night?"

Pippi clandestinely following mysterious footsteps to the roof (http://strongestgirl.livejournal.com/28808.html?nc=2) has a sudden "emo-sence tingling" moment and decides to see what's going on around the attic area.

The first door she sees is that of the South Attic.

*knock knock*

"It's open!" Phoebe calls out, fighting to hold back hysterics.

Pippi opened the door and poked her head in.

"Oh, hi Phoebe." she said "I was just exploring and... What's wrong?"

"Hi Pippi," Phoebe tried to smile at the other girl. "The Constable took Cole... Bel... into town to the Troopers."

"Oh dear!" Pippi said comming in and closing the door behind her. "What happened? Are they trying to put him in a Children's Home... Or a Demon's Home... Is there such a thing?"

Kiki didn't bother knocking.

"Phoebe!" She demanded as the door slammed shut behind her. "Phoebe, what's going on? What happened?"

Phoebe looked at Kiki and the tears started again. She had been drinking and shook her head.

"They took Cole."

"They did what?" Kiki's voice jumped an octave. "Who did? When?"

Kiki recalled yesterday's Magical Theory class and her eyes narrowed. "Did Macbeth have anything to do with this?"

"Is he the one that told the troopers that Cole attacked someone in town last night?"

"I - I don't know," Kiki gasped uncertainly. "Cole - attacked - I don't believe it, he didn't!"

Kiki ignored the fact that Cole, not so very long ago, had nearly attacked Phoebe, the love of his life. Cole was different - he had changed.

"In Magical Theory," Kiki explained rapidly, "Macbeth came in screaming fanatically about how witches and witchcraft were evil - Ms. Calendar seemed to take it pretty calmly, but Bel - he was the only one who stood up to protect the rest of the class and face him down - I don't know how Macbeth took that - "
