The Den, Tuesday Afternoon

Phoebe was studying diligently after she got home from class.

Okay, what she was really doing was staring at her textbook and not really seeing anything.

This was a bad thing, since she and her lab partner, Charlene, had a report due next week. However, she just couldn't seem to get her mind on her schoolwork.

So much had happened lately and she was still trying to deal with it all.

She had almost lost Piper, and she really didn't think she would get over that anytime soon. It had been to close and it was hard for her to let Piper out of her sight. She didn't think Piper would be happy with her if she got her a bodyguard for everytime she left the room...

Of course, on top of that was what Cole had told her Sunday night about Anders. She had done her best to try to hold it together, but it was hard. Cole was deeply hurt by what Anders had said... and she hated seeing him hurt. She was hurt, too, but she was trying to focus on how Cole was. She couldn't deny that the news that Anders had moved on really did hurt though.

So, here she was, staring at her textbook.

Anders had holed up in 225 to make this call, because he suspected it might be even more difficult than the call to Bel last night.

Currently, he was curled up on the floor in front of the couch with Lancelot the stuffed orca, staring at the number on his phone and working up the courage to hit send.

Finally, he shut his eyes, hit the button, and held the phone to his ear.

It was probably a good thing that Phoebe hadn't looked at the caller ID when she picked up her cell. She may not have answered it if she had.

"Hello?"

"Phoebe?" Anders asked, hoping like hell his voice wouldn't crack. "Hi. It's me."

He thought of saying more, but decided he'd better just wait and see if she hung up on him first.

She really did think about it as she felt hurt and anger over Cole being hurt all over again. She was silent for a long moment and then swallowed.

"Hey."

"You're mad at me, aren't you?" asked Anders, wincing a little bit over that moment of silence.

"Why would I be mad," She asked quietly. "You just broke Cole's heart, is all, and instead of telling us that you were moving on, you talked about having sex with your new guy to Cole and you acted like you didn't even know we existed."

She was trying very hard not to cry or let him know she was as hurt as she was.

Anders knew her well enough. He knew she'd be hurting over it. "Phoebe, that's not how it is. I told him so last night. We lost our memories . . . another weird Fandom thing . . . I know it sounds lame, but . . . Phoebe, I'm not moving on, I'm still in love with you, okay?"

A tear slid down her cheek. "How did losing your memory lead to sex?" Because, like her demon, she thought details would help.

"Because I'm stupid," Anders said bluntly, even though he knew she would have a thing or two to say about that self-assessment. "We fell asleep watching movies, woke up together, so because I don't know how to stop thinking with my hormones even when I don't know who I am . . . yeah."

"You're not stupid, damn it," she said automatically. She swallowed. "Fandom weirdness?" Her voice was soft.

"Fandom weirdness," repeated Anders; he couldn't help but smile at the reflexive contradiction. "Believe me, Phoebe, if I had known at all who I was, I would never have done it. It's like I told Bel last night, the thing that hurts the most is not remembering how I feel about you."

She sniffled. "Still ours?"

"I promised, didn't I?" Anders replied quietly. "So definitely still yours. Don't want to be anybody else's."

Homecoming was coming up and the only reason Prue was excited about it was the prospect of seeing her sisters again. Her AU sisters. Whatever, same thing.

Ring ring...

Phoebe was much more cheerful when she answered the phone. "Hello?"

"Hey Pheebs, it's Prue." she said. And figuring she didn't need to cause confusion she added, "Fandom Prue."

Phoebe laughed. "I know the difference. How are you?"

"Er...good." she said. Her mind trailed off to scaring the hell out of Peter last week. "How's school?"

Phoebe groaned.

"If my math teacher was a demon I'd be happy?"

"Want me to come over there and beat him up?" Prue asked with a grin.

"Ooooh, don't tempt me."

"Offers on the table." she said. She might have been a little bit serious about that. "Anyways, why I called. I was just checking to see if you guys were coming this weekend for Homecoming. You are, right?"

When Prue said "you guys" she had solely meant Phoebe and Piper.

"We will definitely be there," she promised. She knew exactly who Prue was referring to. "I'm sure we could use a break and we miss you."

She would let Piper tell Prue about the brush with death... maybe.

"I miss you guys too. It feels like I haven't seen Piper in forever." Prue said. And that was practically true. And then switching over to girl mode she asked the important question, "Did you buy a dress yet?"

"Yes, I have indeed bought a dress. Have you got yours yet?"
