Monday Morning, Suite 518/520

Phoebe woke up early and she frowned about that. She wanted to be sleeping more... a lot more.

She moved closer to Cole, closing her eyes.

The weekend had been both exciting and exhausting. They had graduated... and then had fought for their lives against the Martians that had blown up their school... and had a Halliwell Family brunch.

She wasn't sure which had been the more dangerous, to be honest.

"I need a vacation," she murmured quietly.

"I agree," Cole mumbled sleepily.

"Should go somewhere before camp starts," she said against his chest.

Cole nodded. "We've got a week, right?"

"Not a full week. I have to work Thursday night, but yeah, a week until camp starts."

"How about this weekend then?" Cole suggested. "We could leave Friday morning and come back Sunday night."

She tilted her head up to look into his afce. "I think that sounds like a wonderful idea, love."

"Where do you want to go?" Cole asked, running his fingers through her hair. "Venice?"

She smiled at him, loving feeling his hands in her hair. "That sounds nice if you'd still like to go. Is there some place you'd like to go, love?"

"Wherever you want to go is fine with me, sweetheart," Cole said, pressing his lips to her forehead.

"Any place is fine as long as I'm with you and we're not at the school for a few days. The last couple of months have been a bit draining."

"Tell me about it," Cole agreed. "We can definitely use a vacation."

Phoebe nodded. "Exactly," she murmured. "Just get away from here for a couple of days."

"Just the two of us, or. . . ." He glanced over at Anders's sleeping form.

Phoebe nuzzled him. "You know that I'll be happy with whatever you want to do as long as you're happy, love." She smiled slightly. "He might need to get away, too and if both you and I disappear on him right now... after the panic over the Martians attacking the graduates..."

"We could leave a note again," Cole grinned.

Phoebe hid her face in his chest so the giggles didn't wake Anders. When she had control of herself, she looked up at him. "Somehow, I don't think we'd be forgiven as easily as he forgave us when we were six and four."

"Whatever you want to do is fine with me, love," Cole said, squeezing his arm around her.

She looked up at him. "I think we should take a trip somewhere this weekend and bring him with us, Cole. He has sat and watched both of us be hurt and then screwed with and possessed... and has had to deal with the fallout of everything from both times." She worried her bottom lip. "I want us to do something nice for him, love."

"Sure," Cole said, touching his fingertips to her lip so she'd stop. "We can show him more of the world outside Fandom."

Phoebe kissed his finger. "I love you so much, Cole."

"Love you, too, sweetheart," Cole said, drawing her head up so he could kiss her lips.

Phoebe needed little encouragement to move to kiss him thoroughly. "Have I told you lately how glad I am you're mine, love?"

"Mmm, and I'm glad you're mine, Phoebe," Cole murmured.

Phoebe smiled and kissed him again. "I'm really sorry my Grams threatened you, love." She was feeling kind of guilty about that.

"It's okay," Cole chuckled. "I wouldn't expect anything less of her."

Phoebe laughed softly. "She's awfully protective of us... and she knows how much I can feel things even without my empathy." She kissed him again. "I also think that's another reason she won't make peace with Victor. She doesn't trust him not to hurt us again."

"She doesn't like men much in general, does she?" Cole said.

Phoebe shook her head. "She loved our GRamps, I think, but after he died... most men have disappointed her and then when my Dad walked out on us girls when I was a baby..." PHoebe sighed softly. "That really didn't help."

"I won't ever walk out on you like your father," Cole said.

[sensethevisions]

Phoebe blinked and then looked back up at him. "Where did that come from, sweetheart? I know that I don't have to worry about anything like that." She kissed him again.

"Good," Cole said, kissing her back. "I just don't want you to ever be afraid of that."

Phoebe smiled at him. "I never will be," she assured him softly.
