Late Friday Night [[NFB]

Phoebe had been gathering as much information a spossible for what they were planning -- including a spell or two that she hoped would come in handy.

After gathering everything into a small bag, she went to make some coffee. It was highly doubtful she would be sleeping tonight.

She placed a call to Blair, and then went to sit down, going over her notes again.

Phoebe looked up from her paperwork. "Come on in, Blair!"

"Hey." Blair came in and looked around. "You're up late."

Phoebe smiled. "I am trying to make sure certain things get done." She sighed. "I need to tell you something and you're going to want to sit down..."

"...okay?" Blair took a seat on the floor, taking a deep breath. That sort of sentence was rarely the prelude to good news.

"Cole's alive."

Blair blinked. "...in our hearts?"

Phoebe ran a hand through her hair. "Uhmm... not exactly. See... when we vanquished the Source and he took Cole with him? Cole ended up trapped in the Wastelands and I plan to go tomorrow night and bring him home."

Blair took a long moment. On one hand, yay alive friend! On the other hand, friend in hell. On the...

Actually, there wasn't another hand. Blair looked up at Phoebe. "I want to help."

Phoebe let out a breath. "I thought you might... which is why I wanted to tell you what I was going to be doing."

"Right." Blair nodded and stood, coming over to Phoebe. "What's the plan?"

She sighed. "Tomorrow night we'll go to Aziraphale's and I'll cast a spell to take us there. It could get dangerous as there is a beast thing there that almost got me, but we'll be able to get to Cole."

"Of course there's a beast. It's not like Bel could be trapped somewhere where all we have to do is write a strongly worded letter to free him." Blair rolled his eyes a bit and nodded.

Phoebe couldn't help the soft laugh. "That's true. Oh, Blair!" She hugged him. "If things go right, we'll have him back with us by this time tomorrow!"

"There's no way we're coming back without him." Blair said, hugging her back tightly.

"I am never letting him out of my sight again."

"I agree." Blair nodded. "I also vote for hugging. Possibly in the 'stuffing out of' category."

"Oh definitely," Phoebe agreed. "Hugging the stuffing out of him should definitely be in the plans."

"Oh my god." Blair said with a smile leaning against Phoebe's side a little. "Can you believe it? Just last week we were having his memorial service and now we're talking about punishing him with hug-a-thons. It's unreal."

Phoebe hugged him again. "I know. I had been praying for a miracle, for good to happen... and then I was finally realizing that he was gone, I heard him calling me."

"I'm assuming that you're not talking about a cell phone." Blair said.

Phoebe shook her head. "In my mind... through our bond. he needed my help."

"Wow, that's crazy." Blair whistled. "I'm glad you guys are so close. He's lucky to have you."

Phoebe smiled. "I'm lucky to have him," she said softly. "And now, I want him back safe and sound."

"Me too." Blair nodded firmly. "Is there anything I should bring tomorrow?"

Protest signs, candles, copy of Bel singing Kumbayah?

"Yourself and that optimism that you have which always makes me believe that everything will be alright?"

Blair smiled and gave Phoebe another hug. "I can do that."
