Wednesday Afternoon -- Suite518/520

Phoebe had come back to the dorms after classes and was reading through some of her notes for Aziraphale's class. She was also thinking about some of the weird stuff she had been hearing on the radio for the last couple of days and she was trying to figure out what was going on.

Of course, it didn't help that a few certain someones had been acting strange ever since the field trip.

Shaking her head, she went back to her studying.

Cally knocked on the door to Phoebe's suite.

Time to work on that whole surrogate sister thing.

"It's open!" she called out.

Cally entered the suite, but made sure to close the door behind her.

"Hey Phoebe," she said with a smile.

Phoebe looked pleased to see her.

"Hey, Cally. How's things?"

"Oh, your usual. Feelin' fine, classes are okay, kinda became a witch," Cally said.

Phoebe blinked. "Excuse me?"

Cally tried to give a reassuring smile. "I'm a witch now?"

Phoebe did not say Buh?!

Instead she said. "Huh? How did that happen?"

"I, ummm, read something from a book," Cally said. "And ta-da! Witch."

"Cally... what book did you use to become a witch?"

Phoebe was worried as anything could go wrong with spells like this and she didn't want anything to happen to Cally.

"Just... a book," Cally said. "I don't remember the name of it, and it kinda... well, I accidently, err, set it on fire."

"Fire?!" Phoebe squeaked, jumping up. "How did you do that?"

"Ummm, I can kinda do what Bel does?" Cally said.

"When did this happen?"

"Ever since Monday night," Cally said. "That's when I read the thing. From the book. And now I'm a witch!" She tried to look as happy as possible. "Isn't this great? We can totally, be, like witchy-best friends, now."

Phoebe's brain was in a panic as she tried to figure out how this could have happened.

"Well, we're already pretty best friends, but I can see how this could make us closer."

She'd have to talk to Cole and let him know that she'd be protecting Cally if any demons showed up.

And... she wanted to know if he knew of a book like the one Cally had accidentally set fire.

"So, what all can you do now?"

"Uhhh, mainly just this," Cally said, concentrating on her hand for a second and creating a small fireball.

Okay, that was impressive and being a teenager, Phoebe let her amazement show.

"That's really cool."

Cally dissipated the fireball and smiled. "I was popping popcorn by the kernel last night."

Phoebe grinned. "That had to be an interesting sight for anyone who was there."

"Yeah. Had a couple people freak out on me, but mostly they're all cool with the whole witch thing now. Though Bel was kinda all suspicious," Cally said.

"Because usually only demons have the power of fire," she explained.

That got a nervous laugh out of Cally. "Blair thought I'd turned into a half-demon. But, nope, no demons involved. Just a book. Nobody but me and the book. Yep."

Phoebe nodded. "I can see that Blair might think that. The only experience he has with powers of fire is Cole."

"Apparently Setsuna can too," Cally said. "And here I thought I'd end up all unique and stuff."
