Thursday Morning -- Suite 518/520

Phoebe hadn't been able to sleep.

She kept seeing those frogs in Willow's bed, and kept replaying her premonition through her mind, as well. Instead of sleeping, she had spent as great deal of time hanging out on the roof. It was peaceful up there and she wasn't worried about accidentally touching anything to trigger a premonition.

That was the last thing she needed right now.

She stayed up on the roof until she started watching the sun come up. Standing up and stretching, she decided to go back down to the room so Cole wouldn't be too worried about where she had disappeared to.

She let herself into their suite and went to pour a cup of coffee from the automatic coffee maker on the counter. She fixed it and took a sip, allowing herself the first smile she had smiled since the day before. A little more relaxed, she made her way into the bedroom to snuggle with her boyfriend.

At first, Phoebe stood in the doorway in shock, her brain not really registering what she was seeing.

Cole was in bed -- their bed -- with Blair and there were things all over the room. And was that... FACEPAINT all over Blair and Cole?

The coffee cup slipped from her hand to shatter on the floor as she leaned against the doorframe in shock.

Phoebe had tears slipping down her face at this time.

"H-how could you guys? Blair... you're supposed to be my friend..."

"We didn't!" Cole exclaimed, starting to hop from the bed. Then he realized he was completely naked and quickly pulled a sheet over himself to hide it.

"What the heck, man?" Blair grabbed at the sheet too and tried to put as much of it as he could between Bel and himself. "You! Bar! I...I..."

"Dude, why am I wearing mime makeup?!"

Phoebe took a shuddering breath. "You're both naked... together... and... how could you in this bed?!"

She shook her head. "You told me that there was nothing between you guys." She swallowed, trying to talk. "I believed you!"

"There's nothing between me and Blair!" Cole said, flailing his arms about. "I love you, Phoebe! I wouldn't do this to you! I-I must've had too much to drink last night but. . . ." His voice trailed off as he looked around the room and saw the scattered items Jamie had left. How the hell could he explain that and being in bed with Blair? He didn't even like Blair that way.

"We had sex?" Blair stared at Phoebe dumbly and looked at Bel and then reached down to pick up a stray condom. "Um...I think I'm going to be sick."

Phoebe put a hand over her mouth when Blair reached for the condom and started backing out of the room.

"Phoebe, wait!" Cole called. He leapt from the bed and moved toward her, the sheet trailing after him.

"Eep!" Blair grabbed for a pillow to cover himself as the sheet moved. He reached down to see if there was clothes on the floor and was shocked to see his hand shaking. Going back to clutching the pillow, Blair cleared his throat and called after Bel.

"Can I borrow some clothes, man. I...I just need to go."

"It's okay, Blair, you can stay," she said quietly. She looked at Cole.

"We'll talk later, okay?" she said. Her voice was pained. "I just... I can't right now."

"Phoebe, please," Cole said. "I know what this looks like but I wouldn't do this to you! You gotta believe me."

"Don't wanna stay." Blair mumbled and looked pleadingly at Bel. "Pants? Shirt? Can I at least borrow this pillow?"

Phoebe nodded at Cole. "I know..." she said haltingly. "I... I have to go. You and Blair should... talk I guess..."

"Your clothes are over there," Cole said absently, pointing them out to Blair. He looked away from Phoebe, unable to deal with the pain in her eyes.

Blair eyed the space between the bed and his clothes and made a crouched run for them, trying to keep the pillow covering as much as he could. He kept his back to Bel as he slipped on his pants and used his shirt to wipe off the majority of the white face paint.

"D-d-do you want to talk about this, man?"

Phoebe took that opportunity to leave the suite.

Bel facepalmed. "What's there to say?" he said. "How could we have. . . ?" He waved his hand toward the bed.

"I don't know." Blair rubbed his eyes worriedly. "I don't remember d-d-doing..."

"I don't even remember leaving the bar."

"Me neither," Bel groaned. "I remember you, and Jamie, and drinking, but after that. . . ."

"My first time." Blair leaned against the wall and stared at the bed and the condoms and random swipes of facepaint. "And I don't even remember."

"I don't understand this," Bel said, starting to pace. "No offense, but you're totally not my type."

"Honestly?" Blair sat on the floor and glared at Bel. "Little bit of offense there, man. You're the one who kissed me."

Bel blinked.

"That was just to make you blush!" he exclaimed.

"Is that what this was all about?" Blair tossed a condom at Bel. "Another way to make me lose the bet?"

Bel batted the condom away and glared at Blair. "I wouldn't cheat on my girlfriend to win a stupid bet!" he said.

I mean nothing to you? "So why did we s-s-sleep together?" Blair managed to stutter and yell at the same time.

"I don't know!" Bel flailed. "Maybe I was drunk enough that I thought you were Phoebe?"

"Phoebe's a girl!" Blair yelled and then thought through that statement. "Does that mean? Did you? In...?"

"Ugh with the being sick again."

"It certainly wasn't the other way around!" Bel said, scowling.

"I...I got.." Blair was just on this side of hyperventilating. "By a g-g-guy and..."

Bel sat down on the bed, his head in his hands. "I don't understand. You're not my type! And I wouldn't do that to Phoebe!"

"Stop saying that!" Blair panted. "This...is all my...fault."

"Stop saying what?" Bel flailed. "And why is it your fault? What did you do to me?"

"Not my type. Stop say that." Blair bit his lip and gauged the distance to the door. "The mime-demon mating dance. I'm really sorry, man. I didn't know it would make you come after me and f-f-f...you know."

"Mime-demon mating dance? What the hell are you talking about?" Bel said.

"So sorry, man." Blair inched closer to the door. "You and me...bed...cause I dressed as a mime."

Bel gaped at Blair. "What the hell? There's no such thing as a mime-demon mating dance. If I wanted to sleep with you, it wouldn't be because you wore mime makeup!"

"So what's your excuse then?" Blair was much closer to the door but he paused to hear the answer.

"I don't have an excuse because I don't want to sleep with you!" Bel said, glaring some more. "The only explanation is mind control, or I thought you were . . . someone else!"

"Fine! I don't want to sleep with you either!" Blair yelled angrily and stomped to the door. "Or I didn't. I still don't. Whatever."

He grabbed the doorknob and glared at Bel. "I...don't...argh!" Blair slammed the door behind him as he left.

Bel groaned and ran his fingers through his hair after Blair left. He didn't understand what was going on, but he had to find Phoebe and get her to understand he never meant to do anything to hurt her.
