Wednesday Night Long After Dark-- Serenity Cove

Phoebe had been swimming around the island again. The earlier conversations had been a mixture of upsetting and relaxing. Barbossa had even sung to her and then had given her rum. It made her feel a little better.

She had talked with River and Jane later and had found out that Jane had lived in interesting historical times and that River was really intrigued by what had happened.

After talking to them, she had decided to swim out further from the island and do some exploring out there. She was now off the coast at Serenity Cove. The lights of the town and the school were tiny spots in the darkness, and she kept looking over her shoulder as she swam out to darker water and explored.

She would hear if anyone called for her, though.

Pippi bit into her gillyweed and held the other out to Walter.

Walter grinned at her reaction and took the gillyweed from Pippi.

"I could never turn down the opportunity to swim with a mermaid, could I?"

He ate it as quickly as he could, since he already knew it wasn't exactly a taste treat.

Phoebe dove into the water and then surfaced, waiting for them.

Pippi finished her gillyweed and jumped in after her.

Walter finished his as well and headed off into the waves, grateful for the relief from the heat.

The transformation gillyweed brought was still disconcerting, but at least he knew what to expect, so he ducked under the water when he felt the changes taking hold.

Phoebe dove down under the surface when she saw that they seemed to be ready and was happy to have someone to explore with.

Pippi is an exceptionally strong (yuk yuk) swimmer and the webbing on her hands and feet gives her the boost she needs to keep up with a mermaid.

She does however try to make sure they don't leave Walter behind.

Walter may not have Pippi's strength, but speed does translate somewhat, and he was having little difficulty keeping up with the two. This? Was one of the best things ever, every single time.

Pippi was pleased to see they were all keeping up with eachother and did a few loop-de-loops around Phoebe and Walter just because.

She wondered if Phoebe could understand Shark now that she was a mermaid.

Phoebe had indeed been learning the languages of the sea. Shark was a little tougher but she was getting better.

//Oh good, it's so much easier to talk like this when underwater... Walter speaks it too! So have you found anything cool to explore? We have an hour before the gillyweed wares off.//

Phoebe pointed out.

Walter swam in the direction Phoebe was pointing. The one drawback to Gillyweed was that time limit, and it was always in the back of his mind when he used it.

It meant keeping the dallying to a minimum, but the whole experience was well worth it.

Pippi followed after Walter in the direction Phoebe had pointed.

Phoebe swam in the water, moving through the ship. It was obvious that she was happy to have them with her.

Pippi swam up to the chest Phoebe led them to and tried to pull it open.
