South Attic -- After First period

Since she now had only one class on Fridays, Phoebe returned to the room after Celtic Studies.

While she was relieved that she had gotten an "A" in Forensics, and that she now had her Fridays open, she was going to miss Professor Sidle. She had learned a lot from her in the year she'd had her as a science teacher. She was definitely going to miss her next year.

Not wanting to bother Cole in case he was still sleeping, Phoebe pulled a chair to the window. She drew her knees up to her chin and stared out the window.

The fact that their mother had been killed by a demon was something she hadn't dealt with... or had talked to anyone about. She hadn't even told Cole yet.

She closed her eyes and sighed, feeling Valkyrie and Seraphim climb up onto the chair to curl up against her.

Lana came up and knocked on the door. "I'm sorry we didn't manage to connect after classes on Wednesday. *handwavey* stuff, you know."

Phoebe smiled faintly at Lana. "It's, Lana. Things have been insane." She offered Lana a seat. "How have things been for you?"

She shrugged. "Shep's gone. I'm miserable about it. Other than that... things are going pretty well. How are *you* doing?"

Phoebe shook her head. "I don't know."

Lana kicked off her shoes and sat down near her friend.

"So..." she said carefully. "You had wanted to tell me something you'd found out about your mother. Do you still want to tell me about it? Because I'm here and ready to listen if you do."

Phoebe looked at Lana and nodded, tears filling her eyes.

"My mom died when I was very young, I never got the chance to know her. I found out... she didn't just die... she was killed."

"Oh, sweetie! I'm so sorry!" Lana reached out and took Phoebe's hand. "I'm so sorry. That's terrible."

"It gets worse," Phoebe said quietly. "Mom was a witch and she was killed by a demon... by a water demon."

"Killed by a demon..." Lana squeezed Pheoebe's hand. "God... This must be such a shock to you. How... How did you find this out?"

"P-Piper told me," Phoebe said quietly. "She found out over the weekend."

Lana closed her eyes briefly. "Honey, I... I don't know what to say. I can't imagine what it must be like to find out something like that about your mother... Well, a tiny bit of an idea," she added, thinking about her "real" father. "But, God... Is there anything I can do?"

"Stay with me for a little while? I don't want to be alone right now and I haven't told Cole yet."

"Of course," Lana said, "I wouldn't leave you on your own. I'm here and you can talk or not about whatever you want. About this or, if you want to be distracted, ask me questions. About anything - anything at all."
