South Attic -- Early Friday Morning -- The Power Of Three

Phoebe was curled up in bed with Cole when her eyes suddenly flew open.

"That's it!" she said softly, hoping she didn't wake up Cole.

She slipped carefully from the bed and changed into jeans and a t-shirt before leaving their bedroom, closing the door quietly behind her. She went into the spare room and pulled the Book of Shadows from where she had been hiding it. She took it into the main room and sat on the couch. As per usual, Valkyrie perched near her shoulder while she worked and Seraphim sat on the table, watching. Phoebe compared the notes she had taken with what she had just found in the Book and nodded, making a few changes to her notes. Then, she reached for the phone. Yes it was very early, but she knew her sisters. If there was a way the Power of Three and the Charmed Ones could help Angel, she knew that Piper and Paige wouldn't yell at her too much for waking them up this early. Besides, if they did, she'd treat them to coffee at the Perk.

After leaving the messages, she sat down to wait, making more notes.

Piper wandered over to the South Attic as soon as she heard the voicemail Phoebe had left her. She was still half asleep and prayed her sister had coffee.

Phoebe opened the door and pointed to the counter where there was coffee brewing and to the stove where there was a kettle for tea.

"You look like you've slept about as much as I have since this whole thing started," she said softly.

"What's this sleep you speak of?" Piper said with a laugh. She glanced at the coffee that was brewing and smiled gratefully at her sister.

"I think it's one of those commodities that we as high school students cannot afford." She smiled at Piper. "Much to Cole's dismay, I've been living on coffee and tea for the last few days."

"Last few days? I live on it all the time," Piper said tiredly.

She helped herself to some coffee and returned to common area, taking a seat on the couch. "So, you found a spell?"

Phoebe shook her head. "I found several spells and used them to write a spell for what we need for Angel."

She handed Piper her notebook.

Piper glanced at the notebook and smiled at Phoebe when she finished reading the spell. Clearly, she was impressed. "This could work. Or at least help in some way."

Phoebe beamed at her sister and then nodded. "I figured we could talk to Janet about letting us in there with no distractions to try? I think it will at least help in the healing and he won't die..."

Piper nodded. "That sounds like a good plan. And this is a good spell. I'm sure it will help heal..."

Phoebe looked relieved. "I hope so." She frowned for a moment. "I suppose...I suppose we should add it to the Book?"

Piper nodded and smiled. "I think you should be the one who adds it."

Phoebe smiled and went to grab one of her calligraphy pens. She sat down next to her sister and upon finding an blank page, began to write the healing spell in the Book of Shadows.

"I think this is the first spell a Halliwell sister added to the book," Piper said with a grin.

Phoebe grinned back. "I have a feeling it's the first of many things we will add to this book."

Cole yawned and stumbled out of the bedroom in nothing but a sheet wrapped around his waist. He stopped short when he saw Piper with Phoebe. "Umm. Hey."

Phoebe looked up and grinned. "Hey sweetheart? You forgot your pants."

Cole scurried back into the bedroom and threw on some clothes. "You should tell me when you have company," he said grumpily when he re-emerged.

Phoebe got up from where she was sitting with Piper and gave him a kiss good morning.

"Don't be grumpy," she said softly. "I think I came up with a spell to help Angel," she explained, and then pointed to the fresh coffee on the counter.

"You did? Great!" Cole said, pouring himself a cup of coffee. He nodded at Piper in greeting.

She bit her lip and looked at him seriously. "It may not heal him completely, but it should help a great deal."

"Definitely worth trying," Cole said. "Maybe each little thing we try will heal him more and more."

Phoebe nodded. "That's what I'm hoping for."

Paige walked up to the attic, she was too sleepy to orb and had a really bad feeling if she tried it she'd misorb and end up in the West attic or something.

She knocked on the door quietly in case Bel was still asleep and waited, yawning.

"Come on in, Paige!" Phoebe called.

Paige walked in slowly and smiled at her sisters, "So you said you had a spell and I'm hoping also coffee?"

Phoebe nodded and pointed to the counter. "Yes on both counts. I live more on coffee than food right now," she admitted.

"Oh thank you!" she said as she headed over to pour herself a very large mug.

"So what's the plan?"

Phoebe showed Paige the spell she had written.

She read it though a couple of times "wow this is pretty impressive, so when are we gonna go cast it?"

"I think we need to go talk to Janet and find out when we should try this."

She nods, "sure well I don't have anything else to do, so whenever she think's we should do this works for me. I'm back living in the dorms now by the way, with Mai."

"I've got nothing else planned today either." Piper was relieved to hear Paige's news. "I definitely feel better knowing you're back in the dorms."

"Well living over Chaucer's was hardly helping me get over him living was it? I'm gonna try to get my own room once school starts again I think."

Phoebe nodded in agreement.

"Yeah, all three of us here is a very good idea right now."

"I completely agree," Piper added with a nod.

Paige also nodded, "though hopefully we'll have to do less Power of Three stuff right? I kinda like hanging out without having to work out how to save people's lives."

Phoebe didn't say anything for a moment. "It's who we are," she finally said softly. "I realize that now."

Paige nods, "yeah I know I guess I just meant, well I like hanging out without us having too because of what we are."

She frowns for a moment, "if that makes any sense."

Piper nodded. "I get what you mean, but we will always have to protect innocents."

"Yeah I know, it's just just kinda wierd isn't it?"

"We're not the same people we were when we came here," Phoebe said softly. "Sometimes, I don't know who I am any longer, but I know what we're here to do. We have a responsibility, whether we like it or not. Even Grams didn't argue that when I told her why I couldn't come home after the attack."

She looked at Cole and then looked from Piper to Paige.

"We're the Charmed Ones... a quiet life isn't in the cards for us, no matter how much we may wish for there to be such a thing." She sighed. "Just as long as no demon attacks ever interrupt our weddings in the future, I think I can handle this."

Piper snickered. "I'm just hoping no demons interrupt graduation."

"I'm going to go talk to Janet about our spell... I'll be right back, okay?"

Phoebe left quickly, wanting to get this taken care of.
