sensethevisions: (Not A Lot Of Me Left)

After stopping by Carita's after her last class of the day, Phoebe went right to her suite. She had drank the two for one glasses of wine, talked a little with Orlin, and then had left. She didn't want to be there. She didn't want to be in public right now. Not after last night and then the day she had had. She just wanted to be where she felt safe and where she had sanctuary. The Suite was her sanctuary.

Last night was the worst Valentine's Night she could ever remember experiencing. It had started out so nicely... and then they had again argued about his desire and promise to bring Angelus back. That's when she had realized that no matter what happened, that it was always going to be a bone of contention between them. It was one thing to risk her own life. It was quite another thing to put the lives of family, friends and innocents at risk. After a restless night, she had gone to see Veronica this morning before Celtic Studies and she had spoken in depth to both Veronica and Angel. It had been a relief to find out that Angel had had faith that Cole's love for her would win out in the end. She knew now that she should have spoken to Angel about Cole a lot sooner. He understood and had faith in the power of the soul.

The newspaper had come out and so far, no one had threatened her life over the "Phoebe Speaks" or the column. It was a sad state of affairs when that was the bright spot of her day

After Camulus' class, she had walked right into a Sociology of Violence class that had hit way too close to home. Then, in Forensics, she had told Lana that she and Cole weren't going to be together anytime soon, and that had led to Maia and Lana holding her while she cried. Then, in Sociology of the Paranormal, Grissom had wanted them to talk about what they thought happened after you died.

"When a witch dies, there's nothing left of her but her essence, if she's lucky and she was very strong. It also depends on how she dies." Of course, that had made Grissom want to know her explanation of a witch's essence. "It's like her soul, her life force. If she dies peacefully, her essence is there to be absorbed back into nature or the spirit of things that need it. If she dies in sorrow or by violence, that changes."

After pacing for a bit, Phoebe sat on the couch, curling her legs up beside her. She had thought about knocking on Crowley's door to see if he was in, but she had changed her mind. She didn't want to bother him.

She sighed and reached into her purse, pulling out the metal rose and laying it on the table. Then she pulled out her athame and twirled it in her hand along her fingertips as she stared into the fireplace, getting lost in thought.
