Phoebe's Suite at the Arms - Monday Night

After he dispatched the second fangy creature, Cole shimmered Phoebe upstairs to her suite. He lay her down on the bed and sat down next to her holding her hand.

"Stupid," she said finally. "And I was leaving after Crowley found me climbing up the bookcase...after he left, one of the creatures looked so cute... and then they..." Phoebe closed her eyes as tears started slipping down her cheeks. "They were going to eat me."

"It's okay, love," Cole said, stroking her hair. "You're safe now."

"Why do things keep trying to eat me...?" She swallowed. "I'm sorry, I lost it down there. I should have held myself together and helped you fight."

"Because you're so tasty, sweetheart," Cole said, trying to make her smile.

Phoebe did try to smile. "First Klea and then flying lizard rats with fangs?"

"Don't forget me," Cole said, giving her a lingering kiss.

"You don't have sharp fangs," she said softly against his lips as they kissed.

"You sure about that?" he said, nipping at her neck.

Phoebe smiled again. She kissed him and then lay her head back down.

"What were those things?"

"I don't know," he admitted. "Didn't get a close enough look at them. Probably Crowley's grandkids or something."

"Okay," Cole said. "That's fine. Do I, umm...do I get to have you for dinner tomorrow night, too? Wait, not the way that sounds. Can we go out to dinner Tuesday night?"

Phoebe bit the inside of her cheek so as not to giggle.

"Yeah, I'd like that, Cole."

"Shall I pick you up at the Arms at, umm, 7:00 then?" Cole asked.

"I think seven would be great."

She looked at him for a moment.

"Hey, Cole... what do you have 4th period on Tuesdays?"

"That's free for me, why?" he said. He looked at her curiously.

"You really should come by Camulus' class tomorrow... I mean really."

He raised an eyebrow. "I'll do just that then," he said.

"Oh, and don't trust your eyes, okay?"

Relieved, Cole squeezed her hand. "Nothing can hurt you while I'm here," he promised.

"I believe you," she said softly, pulling him to her side.

Cole laid down beside her and snuggled close. "Is Crowley going to be pissed I'm here?" he asked, hoping the answer would be yes.

Phoebe decided that now would not be the best time to remind him of what Crowley had told her about being allowed to be with Cole if she wanted to, just that she was still his. Also, it wasn't the best time to tell Cole that when she had first signed the contract that Crowley told her ... other things.

"I don't know," she said softly. "I want you to stay... but if you think you want to go..."

He shook his head. "I want to be with you...in all ways."

Phoebe closed her eyes so he doesn't see the tears in them. She loved him and missed him so much. "Hold me?" she finally asked softly.

God, just give them tonight. Deal with other stuff tomorrow. Just let them have one night of no bickering.

Cole obligingly wrapped his arms around Phoebe. "I've missed this," he said softly.

"Me, too," she admitted as she ran a hand up and down his arm.
