Monday Evening at the Arms

After classes, Phoebe dragged herself to town to the hotel. She was worn out and emotionally drained. She managed to get to her room and she kicked the door shut behind her, but there was a good chance it didn't shut and lock.

She dropped her books and bag on the table and took out her laptop and as it powered up, she got a very quick shower, hoping to ease the ache in her neck. Once out of the shower, she changed inbto something comfortable and settled against the pillows on the bed with her laptop.

She was writing a new story about a girl who was having an affair with a dream demon, only didn't know about it because she thought everything that was happening between them was only happening in her dreams.

Phoebe stared at the screen for a very long time. She wanted this next part to be the pr0n sexy lust-inducing attention-holding and she was stuck as to how to do so.

She was still trying to figure out what to write next when she fell asleep.

Phoebe stops moving away and smiles softly at him.

"Of course not, dearest. I'll stay. You don't have to be alone. What do you need me to do?"

It takes every bit of control to not let the wicked satisfaction show when she calls him Dearest...

"Don't leave me, Phoebe. Stay with me. Share my bed. Everything else I leave to you."

Phoebe nods. "Alright, dearest," she says softly, laying down next to him. She's careful not to curl up too close for fear of causing him pain. "I'm here and whatever you need, you have it."

As he unfurls his wings, he works hard to make them appear limp and tired. He curls up against her, his arm draped across her.

"I'm just so tired, pet. So very tired."

Concerned, Phoebe moves where he can lay his head on her chest the same way she has lain on his for so many nights. She holds him and runs a hand through his hair.

"Rest, dearest, I have you."

He rests against her chest, the fingers drawing forth a quiet purr. "So very kind. Even when you think you are empty...you're strong enough to save me from Hell."

"I'm not kind, dearest. I'm not. I purposefully ripped someone's emotions apart tonight, so kindness is not in me right now." She continues stroking his hair. "But I care about you and could not just stand here and not try to help."

"I don't ask perfection of you, pet. Just devotion. And you've given me that in spades. To come home to a lovely one in my bed...one who only wants to help...I can see why everyone loves you so much, Phoebe."

Phoebe kisses his forehead. "You overestimate my importance, Crowley, but you have such pretty words."

Eyes closed, he seems to be driftling off with his ear pressed to her heartbeat.

"Pretty words. Yes, pretty words for a beautiful girl. Tempt you. Downfall. Sweetness and grace. Could...love..."

Phoebe isn't sure what she is expecting to hear, but it certainly isn't the love part. He's told her before that he would tempt her to fall, and she had fallen...and now...

"You're delerious, dearest," she finally finds voice to whisper to him. "I'm not one that you can love. But I do adore you for the pretense."

"Mmmm, adore." he nods against her and curls in closer.

Phoebe holds him close to her, her hands still stroking his hair. "You'll be snarky for saying this stuff when you wake up," she says softly, shaking her head.

He grins, facing away from her. Oh, yes, pet...when I wake up. Tomorrow will be an interesting day, without a doubt.

Then he begins to snore softly.

Phoebe strokes his hair and when he falls asleep, she leans her head back against the wall, keeping watch over him as she has promised.
