[Room #412] Early Monday Afternoon

After going to Geology, Phoebe had quietly returned to her dorm room to work on her project for Professor Camulus' class. However, once in her room, she sat at the desk staring into space for a long time.

She had worked very hard on both her article and the column for this issue of the newspaper. When she had originally decided to write the article about souls and responsibility, she had hoped that she and Piper could get Paige to understand how worried they were about her before the story came out. Unfortunately, that hadn't happened and her article had hit shortly after the big fight she and Paige had had in Study Hall on Friday. So now, knowing Paige, she probably thought the article was an attempt to get back at her for the fight. She'd never believe that the article had been written shortly after the souling of Angelus.

Phoebe dropped her head on her desk a couple of times and once again wished that Prue was there to talk to. She also wished Beka was still around so they could go out and talk and whatever. Her sister-soul would understand what her motivations were and why she was so confused about things. She could talk to Beka about Cole and Angel, whereas there was no way she could talk to Prue about it. Prue would probably want to vanquish both Cole and Angel.

Phoebe sighed and stared down at her notebook. For one of Camulus' classes, she had started an intense research project on the sacredness of Guinevere and the Holy Grail down through the years.

But right now, all she could think about was the splintering of her family.

Paige knocks on the door gently, she's ready orb if Belthazor answers it.

She looks a little angry, but mainly upset and hurt

Phoebe sighs. She knows who's on the other side of the door.

"Come in, Paige," she calls out tiredly.

She takes one step inside and looks around for Cole, not seeing him she walking in a little further.

She doesn't really know what to say first, that Sawyer truly does love her, that she thought it was meant to be power of three whether they asked for her help or not or that she really had no idea how to make things better after what had happened.

So she just looks at her for a moment

Phoebe looks back at her. Her eyes are sad and she does look tired.

"Come to yell at me?"

She shakes her head, "no I just came to ask why you wrote those things about me, all of them. Do you honestly think I don't want to make things right for what happened? I-I just don't know how, this and the thing about you and Piper having this impossible task ahead of you, I mean I know Prue's going to the first in line when all this kicks off but while I'm here, I mean..."

She sighs, "I do practise my powers you know, I want to help people, it's just that neither of you seem to want me to be involved."

Phoebe sighs and shakes her head. She stands up and hugs Paige.

"I wrote that article shortly after the souling of Angelus. I didn't do it to upset you, Paige, I didn't." She sighs. "As for the gossip column...I use what people give me, that's all." She looks confused for a moment. "Oh, you mean the interview with Veronica? Think about it, Paige, the three of us do have an almost impossible task that we're supposed to do."

Phoebe sits back down and runs a hand through her hair. "We all practice our powers. We're all walking targets. It's just that you always seem to be upset about something and I never want to add to that stress." She frowns. "And then when you wouldn't even listen to my worries on Friday...it hurt and it upset me."

Paige hugs her sister back, wiping away a tear. Everything was just so messed up lately and she'd only really had Maia and Sawyer to turn too, she hadn't wanted her sisters worrying.

"I just...felt like you didn't me and after what I read in the paper, it just made me think you and Piper didn't want me helping you."

She bites her lip "and I know I've been upset lately, but that's a few things, I still miss my parents and...yeah I had a big fight with James, but that's all okay now. I mean really okay" she looks at Phoebe, "we really do love each other you know. But I know what we have to do Phoebe, I can ignore all that to protect innocents, I'm sure I can."

"And I'm sorry about Friday, I went to see the therapist in town and she gave me a book about stopping drinking and like I said I know James and me have argued a lot in the past but that's all over now, I promise you. I know I've lost my way recently, but I really think I'm finding it again"

"I hope so, Paige. I don't want to lose you so soon after finding you." Phoebe sighs. "As for you and Sawyer...I'm trying to believe that, Paige, but all I know about him is how much he makes you hurt or makes you cry."

Paige frowns, "I promise you won't lose me and...what happened last week, nothing like that will happen again, I know all there is to know about him, stuff he's never told anyone, about why he's like he is."

She looks sad for a moment, "but the point is I know how much he loves me, he won't hurt me again Phoebe, I have his word."

"I'll give him a chance, Paige, but if he makes you cry again...or drink again, I will vanquish his ass."

Phoebe tends to be very protective of her family.

Paige reaches inside her bag and hands Phoebe the flask, "it never runs out, so I guess it's best if I just give it you right?"

She bites her lip, "he's gone through a lot you know, it no suprise he's a little...overprotective of me."

She looks at her sister, "and Phoebe when we're alone is it okay if we call him James? It's just, Sawyer, well it's not him, not really."

Phoebe takes the flask and looks it over. "Who in the hell gave you a never-emptying flask of alcohol?"

She looks back at her sister. "All I'll promise is that I will try, Paige."
