Hyperion Hotel, California, Monday, A Little After Noon

Phoebe hadn't told anybody about the job interview she had gone to a few weeks ago. Nor had she told anyone that she had gone in for a follow-up interview last week. She had also made sure not to leave out any of the paperwork she had been working on for said job opportunity. She didn't want to get her hopes up -- okay, too much, as this was Phoebe -- and she didn't want anyone to know what she had been doing with her time when she wasn't at school or following one of her visions.

However...

A few minutes ago, her cell phone had woken her up from a peaceful sleep, and she had left the bedroom to go into the main room of the suite to talk to Elise Rothman. After all, she hadn't wanted to wake up the boys.

The conversation ended up being longer than expected, so she had wandered from their rooms and to one of the common rooms.

The joyful whoop that she let out when she hung up the phone could probably be heard by most of the people in residence. She may have been a little too excited to realize that the shout wasn't just her inside voice.

Bel, half-naked and sleepy, stumbled to the common area and peered at Phoebe. "What's up, sweetheart?"

Phoebe was bouncing and she practically threw herself at him to hug him.

"I got the job!"

Oops, she hadn't exactly said she was looking for a job...

Bel wasn't going to complain about having arms full of Phoebe.

"Job? What job?" he had to ask, though.

She was still holding onto him and bouncing with the excitement.

"Oh! I uhm, applied for a job at the newspaper a few weeks ago. The editor just called me and I got the job."

"I'm gonna guess writing something and not delivering them," Bel grinned, wrapping his arms around her and lifting her up into the air.

She may have been covering his face with kisses as he picked her up.

"I'm the advice columnist! You're holding onto the writer of the newspaper's Ask Phoebe column!"

"Congratulations, sweetheart," Bel said. "How come you didn't tell me you were applying for a job there?"

Phoebe grinned into his face. "I didn't want to get my hopes up and if I didn't get it then I wouldn't have made a big deal over nothing."

Really, it had been so hard for her to keep this a secret from him.

"Of course you were gonna get the job," Bel said gruffly. "They know how amazing you are, it's obvious."

Phoebe grinned at him. "You might be a little partial about my talents, soul mate."

"Just a little bit," Bel murmured, giving her another kiss.

Kissing Cole was. Kissing Cole was absolutely wonderful.

"Besides," she teased. "I didn't want you to see me disappointed if I didn't get it."

"Then I would have to work hard to cheer you up," Bel pointed out.

She smiled. "And you're very good at cheering me up," she agreed.
