Racing to find a place for my soul ... Or at least a place that&#39;s less familiar

"What's so funny, sweetheart?" Bel asked when he heard Phoebe giggling.

Phoebe turned her laptop around so he could see the video that was playing from her phone. "Gremlins," she managed to get out. "They got bit."

From:

Bel watched, his jaw dropping. "I always knew he was gay," he murmured, half to himself. "Both of them."

From:

Phoebe lightly thwapped him. "Gremlins," she stressed. "I still remember what I did both times I was bitten."

She wiped her eyes. "Besides, I heard from Sean and Eve that Johnny married Savannah on that cruise they went on and they were making plans to hide Johnny from Wyatt at graduation. And Chris is head over heels for Summer."

"True," Bel said, sitting behind Phoebe and resting his chin on her shoulder. "But how come whenever they get bit they can't keep their hands off each other?"

She leaned back against him. "Because the gods have a twisted sense of humor?"

This would probably be the wrong time to remind him how he and Anders couldn't stay away from each other before the three of them became an item, huh?

"Gremlins are one Fandom feature that I do not miss."

But he didn't use gremlins as an excuse.

Okay, maybe he used the Source as an excuse, but that was totally different!

"Me neither," Bel said, wrapping his arms around her. "I'm glad that's one part of Fandom that didn't follow us here."

"Oh, hell, me too," she agreed. "We don't need that part showing up."

From:

"Hopefully we didn't just jinx ourselves," Bel said, looking around nervously.

She shook her head. "It won't do any good to worry about it, love."

From:

"I'll just have to destroy any cameras," Bel said, nuzzling her neck. "No evidence." And then Anders walked into the room.

"What's so funny?" Anders asked when he got back to the room after his long bus trek home from school. "I could hear you guys laughing two floors down."

Phoebe replayed the video on her laptop and showed him.

Anders got about two minutes in before he fell over onto the bed laughing so hard he couldn't see straight (how straight he could see in the first place was questionable anyway) and wiping tears from his eyes.

"Okay, that might be the best thing I've ever seen in my life."

"They are going to hate themselves in the morning," she said, shaking her head. "I feel bad for Summer and Savannah for what they'll have to deal with."

From:

"They'll be fine," Anders said, waving a hand and rolling over onto his back. "Gods know I'm just glad there's no video floating around of my gremlin bite way back in the day. Man, it's like a blast from the past, isn't it? This, and they got a zombie invasion over the weekend . . ."

He actually sounded pouty about missing the zombies.

"Yes, well I'm glad that we were nowhere near the zombies, though I did tell Anakin that if they needed help we'd be there."

"I wanted to fight 'em," Anders said, and yep, totally pouting. "I didn't get a chance to the first time, and now I can, and I wasn't there."

Phoebe gave him a look.

From:

". . . what?" Anders asked, looking innocent.

From:

"I remember how I spent the last zombie invasion -- trapped in the weapons locker, exhausted and in pain from a zombie bite to my shoulder. I'd like to never have that happen again."

Of course, nowadays, if she were trapped somewhere with that many guns she'd probably be catatonic.
