Neptune, CA; Phoebe and Cole's Place, Monday Afternoon and Beyond

Phoebe was awake bright and early on Monday morning, working on class stuff in the living room.

She had finally gotten Cole calmed down last night and reassured that no, Anders was not staying in England to hook up with a Rugby team, that it had all been a joke.

She would never admit that after she had her own coffee she had been amused by Isabel and Parker's joke. He did sorta kinda deserve it after that whole harem thing. However, she would admit that she did miss Parker.

By afternoon, she was laying on the couch with a blanket over her and trying to read. She had a migraine and had given up on her homework for right now.

Now that Anders was back in Fandom, done with class for the day, and recovered from his adventurous portal trip home, he figured he owed certain people back in Neptune a phone call at a normal time and with about 300% more coherency than he'd had the last time.

So yes, Anders was lying on his bed and Phoebe's phone ought to be ringing.

Phoebe reached for the phone and when she saw the caller ID, she had to smile. "So you decided to give up your sexy rugby player for little ole us?" She managed not to giggle as she asked that question.

Anders laughed. "There was no sexy rugby player," he said. "Well, okay, there were, but nobody worth staying there for, especially not since I've put in my admissions paperwork already. 'sides, sexy rugby players don't have anything on a sexy witch and demon in my book."

That? Would be the phone ringing with Lana on the other end.

Phoebe smiled at the caller ID. "Hey, Sister-Friend."

"We would miss you too much if you left, Anders," she said softly.

"I'd miss you like crazy," Anders replied. "You know I'd never really do that . . . right?"

Phoebe nodded. "I know... it was just a startling way to wake up."

"I was asleep when they decided to do that," Anders said apologetically. "But I bet it was really cute when Bel was flailing."

"Hey," Lana said quietly. "How are you doing?"

"Next time you can be in bed with him when someone calls him to tell him I'm never coming back then," Phoebe said with a smile.

"Better than you sound... what's going on?"

"No," Anders objected. "That would be upsetting."

"That it would be, sweetie. And he was upset at the idea that you weren't coming back."

"Give him a hug for me? Tell him I'm definitely coming back?" asked Anders. "I mean, I am going to school out there this fall at least, so I kind of have to, you know?"

"I will, Anders. And he and I are both glad you're doing school out here..."

"Where else would I go?" Anders asked reasonably. "You guys are there, so . . ."

"Well... I wasn't going to assume anything, you know? I wanted you to stay... but I also wanted you to do what would make you happy."

"Being with you and getting the chance to play baseball will make me happy," Anders told her. "Palomar might not be a nationally-ranked baseball school or anything, but I don't have the grades to get into a better school, and I can at least have a good shot at making the school team this way even though I've never played before. Oh, gods, I'm gonna have to get a car, and . . ."

Tiiiiiiiiiny little bit of panic there? Maybe, yes.

"Yeah?" he asked as soon as he managed to breathe.

"Love you."

That calmed him down in a heartbeat, and he relaxed back into his pillows with a smile as he closed his eyes. "Love you too, baby. Love you both so much."

"So how was your trip -- evil upsetting of Cole, aside. Did you enjoy yourself?"

"I had a great time. It was gorgeous, and so much stuff to see and do, and we amazingly didn't get into any trouble, and I just wished you guys could've been there with me."
