Wednesday Night -- South Attic -- NFB
Mar. 1st, 2006 08:45 pmAfter Sociology of the Paranormal, Phoebe made her way to the attic and locked the door behind her.
First thing was first, she had to do a cleansing of the attic --- especially their spare room. If she got rid of all of the negative residue that was lingering in the air from their prior fights, then maybe it would help the memory of the last premonition she had had to fade and ;et her sleep again.
She also wanted the Attic to be a soothing place and a comfort zone for her and Cole again.
She went to her trunk and pulled out some sage and a few sprigs of lavender. She walked throughout the Attic blowing smoke into every crevice and repeating a soothing incantation.
After she was done, she felt much better in the rooms and the kittens appeared to be happier, as well.
She kicked off her shoes and made her way to the bedroom. She curled up on the bed with Cole's pillow and she was soon asleep.
It was happening again.
...the dream started out just like her premonitions usually started. There was the roaring sound and then everything went gray. She found herself in a wooded area, but all of the trees seemed dead. There were only branches, but no leaves or flowers. As she continued walking, she noticed that a thick fog started rolling in and everything took a red tinge to it. When she came around a corner, she let out a scream.
He was standing there, armed with a sword and with hate and he was going to kill her. She turned to run, but the figure was in front of her again. Phoebe stumbled back, not sure where she was supposed to turn, what she could do.
She darted to the side, running deeper into the woods. She heard sounds of pursuit behind her and that only served to scare her further. She had the feeling that whomever was chasing her had a very deliberate motive for wanting her hurt. It occured to her that whomever was hunting her was probably the same one who had sent those three demons to kill her in January.
A hand reached out to grab her and Phoebe screamed...
...Pain... lots of pain and screaming... her screams... the face that was doing the things that were hurting her... it was Angelus...
...she kept trying to run, but she never got far. He kept appearing in front of her and attacking... causing her to try to run a different way... she was losing so much blood that she could smell it... she was hurt, badly, and he kept coming... He was playing with her, like a cat with a bird and not even screaming to the ones that promised to help was changing anything...
She saw Cole, but everytime he got close enough to see what was happening, Angelus told him to stay away...and he did. She was terrified and betrayed. Angelus was going to kill her, and Cole was going to let him...
She felt herself stumble and then she was airborne crashing into a tree. When her vision cleared, she looked up at Angelus.
"Don't... please..."
"Don't ... please," Angelus mocked her stalking towards her as she tried to crawl backwards. He reached down and grabbed her, slamming her back against the tree. "Really, Phoebe, you and your humanity ... it's incredibly pathetic. Loving you, being around you, it really made Belthazor so weak. And now? Now I'm stuck cleaning up his mess because he should have just killed you a long time ago."
Phoebe turned her head to look at where he was standing just behind Angelus. "Cole...?"
Cole looked her in the eyes and then looked away. "You brought this on yourself," he murmured.
Angelus shrugged. "Guess it's up to me to take care of this mess," he said as he grabbed her and snapped her neck...
In her sleep, Phoebe turned over onto her back with a whimper.
...her arms were tied behind her back and she was being held tightly against someone. The scenery cleared and Phoebe started screaming. Cole! Cole was kneeling in the center of a circle and his head was bowed. When he heard her scream, his head jerked up.
"No!"
"It's only fitting, Belthazor, that your witch sees what loving her has cost you."
"Don't do this."
"Both of you will die, Belthazor. She can watch you die or you can watch her die..."
Phoebe struggled against the demon holding her. "No, leave him alone, damn it."
Cole's eyes were wide and full of fear as he watched her struggle and he knew he couldn't allow the Source to kill Phoebe. He would draw it out, torture her, cause her pain. They were both going to die, but there was one last gift he could give her...
...he jumped to his feet and shimmered to Phoebe. Thrusting a fireball into the demon holding her, he pulled her to him. "Bright One..."
Phoebe looked into his eyes and nodded. "I know."
"I love you," he whispered tears in his eyes.
"I always will, soulmate. You'll find me again."
He touched his lips to hers, giving her a final, desperate kiss. As they kissed, he cradled her neck in his hands, and then quickly twisted...
Phoebe sat up with a scream, tears streaming down her face. She gasped for breath and made a sharp whimper and then started sobbing, clutching Cole's pillow tightly to her.
